Daisies #2
Description: In December of 2009 I made the decision to make a change and begin using a digital back with a view camera. I came to this decision partly because I am tired of processing film, especially color. I have never enjoyed the darkroom, but for a while now, I have had to do it all if I wanted to shoot with my view cameras and their beautiful lenses. When Polaroid stopped producing P55 P/N, my muse cried, because deep down inside, I feared my 4x5” shooting days would be in trouble and they were. I understand this may not be for all photographers, but as an artist, I feel the need to evolve.

Daisies #2 is the third shot I made with the Arca Swiss MLT and Phase One P45 digital back. Because the macro lens I used is not designed for digital capture, there is a bit of lens diffraction. Shooting with a digital back presents a lot of new problems; like shallow depth-of-field, color fringing, and sensor plane sharpness issues. I hope to get good with this setup as much as I hope to never have to develop film ever again. Post-processing was completed through Capture One and Silver Efex. I love shooting flowers and I hope you guys never grow tired of receiving them from me.
