Minnie Gulch House
Minnie Gulch House

Minnie Gulch House
Description: Minnie Gulch is located in Colorado midway between Silverton and Animas Forks. The road proceeds up the canyon to alpine meadows rising above the tree line. As the road ascends there are steeply rising slopes on the left and sharp drop-offs of several hundred feet on the right.

This house is located below the tree line with a small stream running behind. On the opposite side of the road, behind the camera position, there is a larger stream in the canyon below.

Following the road beyond this house there is a side road that leads up to several abandoned mines with their deteriorating timber structures. Many of these mines were abandoned with the collapse of silver prices in 1893. However, their remains are sonderful photographic opportunities!
